Okay, team, with spring just around the corner, I think it's time we really solidify our plan for the garden. What's everyone thinking in terms of bed preparation?

I was going to suggest we get a head start on amending the soil. Last year, some areas were a bit low on nutrients. A good layer of compost now would really help.

Good point, Brian. And before that, we should definitely clear out any lingering weeds from last season. It's much easier to do now before they really take off.

Agreed. I can tackle the weeding in the raised beds this weekend. Also, should we consider covering any beds with black plastic for a week or two to warm the soil up faster?

That's a smart idea, Andrew, especially for the areas where we plan to put early cool-season crops. We could get those in a bit sooner. What about seed starting? Has everyone got their seeds ready?

I've got tomatoes and peppers started indoors already. They're looking good. I'll need to harden them off in a few weeks before transplanting.

Mine too! I'm just waiting for a bit more consistent warmth outside for my lettuce and spinach direct sowing. I don't want them to bolt.
